MONSTER MAYHEM!!!!

Today we read monster books, made paint blob monsters, danced the Monster Mash and the Monster Pokey.  At recess, we used the hollow tree stump to make monster stew.  We even wrote our own monster

Halloween

Halloween has the class buzzing with excitement. 
October 31st activities are as follows:
10:30 Halloween Party (snack and activity volunteers needed)
11:30 Halloween Parade
11:45 Recess 

Field Trip

We are taking a field trip on Wednesday, October 24th to the Roanoke Children's Theater.  Remember to leave your child's car seat by the fence on Wednesday morning.

Today we will listen to the original Goldilocks story.  

Then we will read the Mo Willems version and talk about the similarities and differences.

We just can't get enough of Mo Willems!!!

Turtle hunters

The weather today was perfect for a turtle hunt along the creek.  We took a short walk over to Hollins to explore the sunny banks of the creek.  We didn't find a turtle, but we did find a school of fish in a shallow pool.  When we got back to campus, we went to Emilie's class in Middle School to meet her turtle, Taco.

Pizza Day and Bake Sale and other stuff

Just a reminder that tomorrow is Pizza and Bake Sale Day.  The cost for bake sale items is 50 cents.  

Also, now that the weather is cooling down, you may want to switch the clothing in your child's extra clothes box to cool weather clothing.

You child made a craft at fall festival which is too fragile to send home in backpacks.  Please pick up the picture frames from the classroom.  They are on the top of the cubbies as you walk in the door.  Thanks.

5 Little Leaves
Five little leaves so bright and gay,
Were dancing on a tree one day.
The wind came blowing through the town,
And one little leaf came tumbling dow.

Bake Sale

Bake Sale begins this week.  Bake sale is offered on Wednesdays after lunch.  Children can purchase a sweet treat for 50 cents.  The money goes to special causes for the hosting class.  This week Keri's class is hosting the bake sale.
