Drama Class

Books are the portal to learning

This week the turtles have been reading several versions of this book.  We look for and expand on the rhyming words in the text.  This is a very good literacy skill.

Rain, rain go away...

Just a reminder to make sure your child has appropriate rain gear ( boots or change of shoes and a rain coat) for days like today.  We will go out to play and puddles are too much fun not to explore.  If our clothes get wet and muddy (and they will)  we will have a miserable day in wet shoes and clothes.

Week Three

Weekly Poem

I'm a Turtle
(tune: I'm a little tea pot)

I'm a little turtle,
I crawl so slow.
I carry my house
wherever I go.
When I get tired,
I pull in my head,
My legs and my tail
And I go to bed.

Dates to remember:
Wednesday is our first Pizza Day.
Next Monday, September 24th School is closed

Family Movie Day     Finding Nemo

Terrific Trurtles:
Please bring your family to a showing of Finding Nemo next weekend.  This is a great way to see our school friends and families to mingle off campus.  Families can purchase tickets and meet in the lobby prior to the movie before entering the theater and selecting seats.
I will be there with my family too!!

Week Two

We are busy getting ready for the name skits this Friday!

We have learned our first poem.

Our current math concept is odd and even numbers.  We have learned that even numbers are fair for two people to share and odd numbers are not.

Our science concept is the life cycle of turtles.  We have read two books about Baby Honu, a green sea turtle.  We will be reading more turtle books, including Limu, the Blue Turtle.
